Everyone agrees that doing an internship at some point during your college career is useful, but how do students get these internships? Some are simple go-fer jobs at local businesses, but others are dream jobs that help students get their feet in the door of major corporations. Once you have these three qualifications under your belt, you are ready to begin your internship search in earnest. There are so many volunteering opportunities out there ranging from teaching English to building houses. Your experience doesn’t have to be anything related to your academic studies or your internship subject. It simply has to show that you are willing and able to work hard.
While you are in school, you will need to excel if you want to land a great internship. Most hiring managers are not looking so much for an intern with experience in the field as they are for someone they know is smart and able to learn. Your academic honors will show you have the stuff.
Finally, you will need a resume that highlights your experience in such a way that your best qualities shine through. It is highly recommended that you hire a certified professional resume writer to do this for you. These individuals can be found in your town as well as online, so do seek one out. You will never know how good you can look on paper until you do!
