- A website. Your website is, of course, your online portfolio. Many employers simply assume that any graphic design professional does have a website. It is easy to send out as a link, but very time consuming to create. If your technical knowledge isn’t up to web design, don’t attempt it.
- A PDF file. Excellent portfolios can be transmitted via PDF file. Construct it using InDesign or Photoshop and have it read like a brochure with samples of your work. This isn’t as accessible as a website, can in many ways can be just as impressive.
- A classic portfolio. Is there any advantage to presenting your work in its actual, physical form? Certainly. An interviewer loves to touch and handle the work you have created yourself, and it is great to be able to pass sample around at a larger meeting. Many graphic designers always ensure that they have a classic portfolio to back up their digital files.
