Sometimes employment agencies can really help earnest seekers of work, but some agencies waste your time. You’ll use up the energy you could just as easily be putting into more lucrative endeavors when you sign up with these agencies, and at worst could end up in a situation that is even illegal. Online reviews of one employment agency called Business Careers really brought that point home for a lot of young professionals.
The reviews stated that the employees at Business Careers dressed unprofessionally and that their roster never offered a job paying over $40,000. Other reviewers stated that they put the most energy into clients who were likely to land the most well-paying jobs, revealing that they worked off of a percentage-based commission basis, but not in a way that served the clientele. Still other reviewers complained that the employment counselors told her that she had “no skills” despite a term in the peace corps and a science degree. These are the signs of a bad employment agency! They are not willing or able to find a match for a variety of clients, and don’t screen the potential employers very well. The job search world is a difficult one, so be sure not to waste your time on places on Business Careers!
